Hello! I'm currently building my coop and I have just a couple of more elements to build (the roof, nestboxes and some finishing touches). But I have a question. I have put the whole coop on a few bricks to have it level, but it is directly on my lawn.

My idea is to think about bedding once the grass will be gone, what are your opinions about this idea?

I have heard it becomes just sand after a while and I thought I would just take out some sand and put some river sand in it for bedding.

What do you guys think? I have added a picture for reference.

Within a day or two the grass will be dirt. I think you should plan the run now, ahead of time. Sand is a great option as long as it can drain and dry. Make sure the sand you use does not contain crystalline silica.

The run is going to be covered as well, I forgot to mention that.

But I already started taking the grass out and am planning on putting sand in, is that good?
