Chicken coop plans

Modify an existing building like an old shed.
This^^^
Already having the building will save you bunches.....
...still isn't cheap....
.... unless you get someone else to pay for it :gig
Sorry, sense of humor a bit off at the moment.

Getting used materials and doing all the construction yourself will be money savers.

Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, and then it's always there!

Good suggestions already. I would only add to not go for all the frills. Build a coop for function and not form to save the most money. There are many conveniences that can be added later and are not essential. Be willing to have to work a little harder on maintenance or cleaning duties (walk-in coops are bigger. Require more materials therefore potentially more money, unless you get enough free stuff)

Ask yourself what are you willing to sacrifice/compromise and what are true essentials?
Will this be a temporary structure (less than 5 yrs)? Do you want to tear it down and rebuild an upgraded version later?

I hate doing things over. So I choose to invest and do what i want the 1st time around. It doesn't mean I have money to burn (I built the majority of my coop from free reused shipping crates) but i built it to last with no bells or whistles.
