Chicken coop/ run construction... PIC HEAVY

Check out the website.. ZAREBA.COM. We are very happy with it! Not one intruder!
We have a bull strength unit which is solar and has grounding rodes for the ground. We have 3 wires at the bottom (Raccoon, Rat, Possum, Coyote, Bear) Then we have one going around the entire top (those yellow brackets on top). We also have one solar powered spot lite that is inside the run which will go off if anything gets inside... TONS of hard work but safe chickens in a "wild" area of NJ!

Guess I'll take a little trip there this weekend.

We had some chicken slaughter at the hands of a black bear this spring, so it's time we get things buttoned up with some power before they go on their fall binge.

Here is a tip... The electric fence works great but on a bear its tricky... Its takes alot to get thru the fur and fat... If you see taht you have a big black visitor coming to your flock after the fence is up place a piece of bacon in the wires. This will then cause the bear to make contact with either its mouth or nose and will be sure to cause him to run after that shock!

Im not messin around with a bear, just yesterday 2 kids and a dog were attacked.... I'll stop it one way or another!
