I have a 8x12 coop aand a 24x50 covered run for 27 chickens to be delivered on 2/23 from McMurrey Hatchery is this big enough and what about a open front design coop need suggestions????

I think you are fine on your coop size, other may disagree. I don't think you'll hear anyone say your run is undersized. Oh and. . .

It's a perfectly reasonable size, comparable to what many people have here (4 sq ft per chicken inside, 10+ outside).

If you build an open front coop, which is a Good Thing for summertime, you want to make sure rain will not blow in (shelter the opening by a porch if it's not sheltered already by trees or etc) and if you're in WV you'll need a way of shutting it up for the winter. Stapling heavy-gauge plastic sheeting over it at a minimum; you may well want some warmer arrangement.

Have fun,

Pat
