I just designed this new coop for my flock. I talked my kids into letting me use the barely used playhouse on stilts and my idea came to life. It's still a work in progress but coming along. My husband enclosed the underneath with a ramp leading up to where they lay and roost, a gate to close when I'm working in the garden and a fence allowing them into my garden. I made chicken proof cages for my plants and they keep the weeds down for me. I pack grass clippings around the plants to keep weeds down inside the cages. So far, our arrangement seems to keep everyone happy! Come harvest time, they'll get first dibs on the reject veggies too!
