So I am in the beginning stages of my coop. What wood is best? I have read mixed things about what wood is good and bad. I have read up already on how to predator proof the coop.

Plywood and pine lumber works just fine. If your coop will be on the earth ground, then use pressure treated lumber where it touches/contacts. Paint or cover with vinyl siding to extend life.
Have you considered re-purposing a children's playhouse??? It is plastic and lasts for many hears. They can be found used very reasonably or free. Wooden playhouses are very good also.
Here is a pix of mine. About 6 or 7 years now. Playhouse was not new when I converted it. It is probably total 15 or better.

I'm considering converting this one to a hen house also.

I build a 3 foot high base so it is raised. I can walk in it to clean or service.
WISHING YOU BEST.....:welcome
