Chicken coops:45 building plans for housing your flock by Judy Pangman

Great book. I poured over it when trying to decide what to build. I checked mine out of the library but will probably buy a copy just for sentimental reasons and to show others as a resource. You might think it's odd to want a copy for sentimental reasons but you'll soon find out how attached you can get to your coop after all the time, sweat, tears, money, etc... And then you get that great feeling of pride when you see your girls thriving in the environment you created.

I have read it and my little chicken coop is even included in it. It's the Cezanne's Garden Coop. The pictures were great and had some ideas I hadn't thought of!

Hello?
I love the hoop houses and the Cordwood coop oh and the prairie schooner oh and did I forget to say the little red henhouse?

Yeppers. Good book. I used it to help construct my first ever chicken tractor. It turned out very well. The only thing that bugged me was that there were not plans, per se, just very good diagrams and basic measurements. I remember having a little trouble with the specifics. But then again, I'd never made anything before in my life so maybe it's not such a big deal.

Here's a picture of my interpretation of the little red coop:

Here's a video tour of the same coop on youtube:
(Forgive the dorky, ignorant tour guide who happens to be me. It was my first day with chickens, and I had a lot to learn!)

And another video of the same coop when we added on a run to it:

It;s a fun book to read for ideas, and I like its breadth (contains such a wide variety of different types/sizes/styles/purposes of coops). However anyone expecting PLANS (like, to build from) will be sorely disappointed, as the sketches are poorly detailed and very much not to scale and not containing all relevant information. You could only build things from the book if you can do it by looking at photos, rather than needing plans.

Kristenm1975 that is a cool coop!!
You did a good job interpretating the little red henhouse.
