My hen didn't want to come off her rooster this morning and appears to be coughing every now and then but otherwise breathing okay. She is pretty lethargic but when she does move around she looks fine. Shes about 18 months, on layer feed and is usually our most consistent layer although her last few eggs have been really oblong compared to her normal ones. Her poops look pretty mucusy this morning. She looked fine yesterday

Can you look inside her beak for any lesions, canker or mucous?
She has some crusty material on her beak and face, is that stuck on food or mucous?

What's her crop like? Is it emptying overnight?

How's the ventilation in the coop?

When was her last egg?

Any lice/mites?

A video of her actions may be helpful, upload to youtube or the BYC Gallery and provide a link.

If she's lethargic and hasn't laid an egg and should have, work on hydration giving electrolytes and also give her 300mg Calcium Citrate+D3 now, then once daily for a few days to see if she will expel an egg.

I couldn't see anything in her beak this morning, I think that may have been mucous stuck on but there isn't new mucous this morning. Crop seems to be emptying fine, the coop has open sides so ventilation isn't an issue and they free range all day in the yard. She has been laying daily just differently shaped eggs. No mites or anything that i can see.
Shes still lower energy than normal this morning and she is taking open mouthed breaths so I have her on some oregano tea as a water source and im keeping her separate for now.
