Any suggestions on removing chicken crap from hatching eggs without washing them? The stuff is like glue and another question what to do with a hen that continues to crap in the nest box.

I have the same problem, some chickens like to sleep just in the nest boxes , it's an extremely bad habit and I also can't find a solution for it, hope to get help

the only way I know to get it off is to run the spot under warm water and gently rub it off trying not ot rub the whole egg.

This is a time consuming suggestion, but I actually cut wire insert and closed up the nest boxes that were being used for roost at night. This did seem to confuse the hen for awhile and she slept somewhere else for a few days. Eventually she reverted back to her bad habit though. Try a clean wet coffee filter on the poop spot. Sometimes this has worked for me.

I get a paper towl damp, squeeze out extra water, but still a little bit on the wet side, and cover the poop spot with that damp paper towel. In about ten mintues, come back and gently wipe off the poop. If it doesn't wipe off, wet the towel again and let it sit again for another ten minutes or so.

You can wash an egg if its that bad. Better to clean it than contaminate the rest of the eggs. It will still hatch fine. Just use water slightly warmer than the egg.
