I saw a chicken cross stitch on the cover of a magazine this morning at Books-A-Million. Would be very pretty.

I have done a few ones of ducks over the years. Anything poultry related when it comes to crafts always catches my eye.

I did a counted cross stitch of Rhode Island Red hens in the nest years ago and I still love it. It was in the magazine, For the Love of Cross Stitch, a Leisure Arts, Volume 10, number 1, July 1997.

Another pattern that I like and used was in the Country Cross-Stitch booklet, "Crates & Sacks-3., 1983.

Sometime these magazines turn up at yard sales.
