Vortec - that roo is a keeper for sure! What a brave fella. I had a similar incident a little while ago and posted about it https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=154500 My big alpha roo Duke tackled a chicken hawk after baby chicks and penned it to the ground! We didn't see the beginning of the attack, but looked out in time to see Duke on top of it! Very cool - that roo does cause me some heartache with his over-protective behavior, but I deal with it. He has earned his keep around here for sure!
