My little chicken died suddenly yesterday. She flapped her wings really hard 2 times, flung her head back, and spit up, then she collapsed. Her heart was still beating very faintly for about 15 minutes then it stopped. Her whole body was warm, but limp the entire time. After tying CPR and many other things, her little heart stopped and her body went stiff, all except for her neck which is still very limp.
I thought she might have choked, but a friend said that she might have gotten bitten or stung, or maybe eaten something poisonous. I know it is too late now, but I want to know if anybody else has experienced something similar or might know what happened.
Background on chicken:
She was a Black Old English Bantam. We bought her from the Pacific Poultry Breeders show on Jan 28, 2012. They told us she was 1 year old. She didn't start laying eggs until 2 weeks ago. She was very tame, beautiful, smart, and spoiled. She slept in my sons room, and if left alone would scream until he picked her up again.
