Chicken Door: Are they ready for the run?

Hello
We have six 10-12 week old chickens, and have just moved them into the coop. We are going to be out of the house next week, and are worried that letting them into the run while we are gone will have them clueless in regards to getting inside the coop. (We really don't need our family members trying to grab a chicken and throw them in) Should we allow them into the run over vacation? Should we wait until we get back?

If the run is attached to the coop, I'd let them out after a couple of nights spent in the coop. Assuming, of course, that the coop is large enough and well ventilated enough that the chickens will be OK in there for a couple of days and nights...
