if i am going to use deep litter method , my chicken door needs to be one foot of the ground , to keep the litter in correct, does there need to be a ramp for them or do they fly up there? and the door should be 14 inches high and 12 inches across correct?

That's how we have ours set up. The bottom of the pop hole door is 12" from the floor (we use the deep litter method). We raise Banties, so our door is only 12" high by 10" wide and there is a ramp from the door out into the run.

Hope this helps!

Chickens hop really well. Twelve inches (and it will actually be less, with bedding in there, even when you're just starting a deep litter cycle) is nothing to them. Don't worry
