I am designing the coops, and I am wondering how fat my girls are going to be. Most likely the biggest of my layers will be a buff orpington, and the meat side will have cornish rocks. A book I read said the chicken doors should be 10in wide by 13in tall. Will that be good enough for any possible BBHs (Big Beautiful Hens) I might have?

Thanks

mine is roughly that and i have problems with my 80lb labs squeezeing in and eating the feed. (then pukeing it back up... GUYS IM TELLYING YOU DONT EAT IT IN THE FIRST PLACE... but i digress)

my girls (two RIR) will squeeze through 5" wide opening i have in my compost bin.

they dont seem to mind if i crack the man door about 7".

Im in the process of slimming down my opening so my labs cant get in. ive about settled on 8x10

Ah good. It seems I have nothing to worry about then. Thank you!
