Chicken Door

I searched for this and found articles on how to prevent chickens from entering houses using the dog door. What I want is tips for teaching chickens to actually use a dog door if I put one on their chicken coop. Odd, I know, but I am putting a dog door on their coop so I can lock them in at night using a pre-made dog door with sliding lock. I was going to remove the plastic flap but figured it'd be interesting if they actually used it. It'd keep the wind/rain/snow out of their coop.

Any tips/tricks?

I need to put a door on the side of the shed I use as their coop and this seemed like a good way to make it look nice and also a good way to lock them in.

If you put strips of plastic on gradually they will learn to push their way in.

Also consider using fabric as a temporary flap.
