One of my favorite hens is down with some type leg or hip injury. She is not egg bound as she is eating fine. She has no use of her left leg. We felt the whole area from backbone to toes and don't feel anything wrong and there is no visiable injury either. The toes are curled under most of the time. She is eating and drinking fine though. I found her this way one afternoon right outside the coop door. I have her in a cage with lots of treats and attention. She is a Barred Rock and her name is Sister Sue. She is absolutely adorable and so nice about this whole thing. She does move toward her food and water. But she sits a lot. We decided not to try to splint or anything and are hoping she heals up soon. It's just been 4 days so far. It's difficult to see her like this but it doesn't seem to bother her as much as it does me.

It's now day 5 and honestly she seems less mobile today. I don't know what else to try. We are thinking about rigging up a sling to see if that helps. Any suggestions?????
