Is there anything else I should put on the cut other that vetericyn? Should I put gauze on it and vet wrap it before bed?

I don’t know if it would make him uncomfortable or not. What do you think?
I don’t want anything to make breathing difficult for him.

Do you have any antibiotic ointment?
If so, could you rub some of that around the wound? You can still use the vetericyn spray too , on top of the antibiotic ointment.

If you feel like an overnight bandage might help, then go ahead.
But don’t leave it on him unattended tomorrow if you have to leave for school or work.
Take it off before you leave.

When you put the antibiotic ointment on the would could you please put some on a clean q-tip and try to smear some around just inside the edge of the wound - but without poking it in.
Just gently.

And don’t contaminate the tip of the tube.
Wash your hands.
Put a blob on your thumb knuckle. The one closest to the base of your hand.

Then take it from there with the q-tip.
