But it was the first time I've seen the other hens help her lap it up. Kinda grossed me out.

Haha! Yeah, have seen that too, just like the dog eating it's own 'sick'.

Even grosser is when you grab them off the roost at night for an exam and they 'drool' all over down your bare leg and foot.

Nah, just point their head away from you when you tip them. Best way to examine/treat is off the roost after dark. I wear a long apron to keep any exudate off my clothes.

That's why I don't really look at poops unless there's a reason to. Glad she's doing better.
