All of our chickens are hens, and we have four drakes. our ducks have been trying to mate the hens every chance they get though they aren't left alone together. only in the process of relocating goats and everyone for milking and feeding do they have a moment but they really try. Now our chicken has gone broody and I checked her eggs out just for fun and I started to wonder if that is at all possible for a red frizzle bantam chicken to lay an egg fertilized by a duck? If so would that survive?

It's possible, but rare. There's still on going studies on this subject, also.
