Hi. I am a proud owner of indian native "desi" chickens. These birds are considered to give more nutritious eggs than most of the country chicken breeds. So the usual egg count is around 18-22 eggs. One of my chickens laid like only 12 eggs. And when the first baby came out she left her other eggs. For the egg count, should I like change her diet or anything? And what do I do about her abandoning issues?

So she laid 12 eggs, which you left in the nest, then she started to set on them 23/7 to hatch them.
Is this the only female bird you have?

And what do I do about her abandoning issues?
Some birds are lousy broodies, I wouldn't let her set again.
Did you candle the eggs to see if they are developing?
Can you put them in an incubator?

Never heard of these.

Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.

It's easy to do, and then it's always there!

Hi. No I didn't leave them in a nest. I put them in an earthen pot to avoid any damage and moisture. I make them sit my hens in a clay pot which has its top removed so its wide enough. I fill it with ash. Ash keeps the insects and water away. I have 5 females and 2 males. I live in rajasthan, india. It hadn't rained here since my hen started laying. I live in almost a dry state. It's usually fry except the rainy season which is liek like June - August, generally.
