Is it the same procedure if the chicken egg is pipping at the wrong end? Is there more danger at that end? Is the yolk near the butt of the chick?

hi I recently had one that did the same thing, but I was unsure what to do so I left it for 24 hours after that I chipped a small amount of shell off it did survive but later another egg did the same thing and I decided to wait and see if it could do it on its own but it died.......
