Hi all! Would love to hear your thoughts on my little predicament. I recently purchased and picked up two dozen BL polish and seven French wheaten marans eggs (two separate sellers). The BL polish eggs were dated between 24/12 and 31/12 and I picked them up on 05/01 and started incubating on 06/01 at 37.8°C and 40% humidity. Of the two dozen, only the six dated after 29/12 started, three of which have shown early deaths and blood lines. The other three seem to be chugging along. Of the FWM, six of the seven are developing. I would love to know what you think might've gone wrong. Do older eggs often not start at all? I asked the seller if there were any fertility or storage issues and she said she didn't have either. She also mentioned that none of her other buyers have had this issue either. Thoughts?

Did you use separate calibrated thermometers, & hygrometers to monitor conditions inside your incubator?

I personally wouldn't set eggs older than 5 - 7 days. Yes older eggs can be an issue.
So can incubators temperatures.

Sellers can not be quite honest either.

There is absolutely no for sure answer to your question.
