I was taking my eggs out of the bator to do the eggtopsy. I put a hole in the aircell of one and the chicken inside was internally piped. It started chirping. On candleing this egg did not move at all so I assumed it was dead. I put the egg back in the bator. What should I do at this point.

Keep your humidity up and watch the membrane. You might want to moisten it with a q-tip. Some people loosely wrap the egg in a damp paper towel.

Hopefully it will pip on its own soon.

I just gave 2 sticky chicks a bath so humidity is through the roof. I will keep an eye on it. I wetted it with a qtip. Do you think if the humidity is that high that I will have to keep wetting?

How big is the hole you made? Can you get a pic? If you use bacitracin ointment (without pain reliever) it will stay moist longer. If you use water you usually have to keep rewetting it. You can take a bandaid and cut off most of the sticky parts and cover the hole with the soft part and leave just enough on the sides for it to stick. That helps to keep the membrane from drying out too. Good luck!
