I was a chicken memorabilia collector before it was cool. As a child, my dad had a chicken farm, and I learned to love chickens from my growing-up years. We live on a ranch, and we have 23 hens and one old rooster, a Brahman. We had a nine-month-old Barred-Rock until today. We came home from church and he was dead and stiff. No wounds. Hadn't been sick. I hate that!
