Chicken escapes

My chickens are getting out a lot so I thought that I would clip their flight wings. However, when I checked out the wings today I noticed that not all of the flight wings are in. What should I do?

Are they getting out of a brooder or a run? If a brooder, try higher sides or cover it with a screen. If a run, are you sure they are going over? I find more go under our through a hole than over.

What age are they?

They're in a run and 12 weeks ols. There are no obvious exits under and they have been getting on their coop for ages

If you search clipping wings, it is easy to do and causes no harm. Only do one side.
You can try it, it won't hurt.

It is amazing how well chickens find the smallest space to escape, mine frequently have holes dug under my fence. They only need 4 inches plus the flex of the fence, I swear!

They are escape artists. The nice part is, as long as some stay in the run, they rarely go far and normally come home to roost.
