Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Oh I am so sorry! There are ways to change the laws here in the US but I am not sure about England. You might stop by this section of our forums and ask around. Maybe someone from your area can help you....https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/37/local-chicken-laws-ordinances-and-how-to-change-them

You might also stop by the UK thread and maybe someone in your area has dealt with this in the past...https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/655508/uk-member-please-say-hi

And if nothing else, you might put them in diapers and keep them as indoor house pets! Lots of people resort to this when their town tells them that chickens are no longer allowed. Here is our House Chickens thread that you might talk to others about keeping chickens indoors....

Good luck with this and I hope you can figure something out!!

Hi :welcome from Yorkshire UK

Glad you could join the flock! I'm sorry to hear your housing association is saying you can't keep your chickens. I would suggest you visit your local citizens advice and see if they can help you.
Have you checked your paper work from the housing association for small print on animals?
Have your neighbours complained about your birds? Is that why they have told you no?

Please do drop by the UK thread TwoCrows left you the link for. There are members from all over the UK on there.

Good luck, I hope you are able to find a way to keep them :frow

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Sorry about the problems with the housing association, hope you are able to get it resolved.

My goodness it's only two chickens. Maybe they should see the "people with house chickens" thread on BYC. All THE people would swear their chickens are domestic pets. Even the Malaysian breed - tiny bantams called Seramas were bred to be house pets.

My friend has 2 silkies and 2 seramas in her home. That is where they live 24/7. She has had many (all in the house) over the past 25-30 years. She is in a residential area- a suburb of Chicago. Incidentally Chicago allows CHICKENS.

I am so sorry you have to go through this, why can't they make an exception to allow the 2 chickens for the rest of their natural lives. I hope for the best possible outcome for this
