Chicken eye health issues, what do I do?

I'm fairly new to the world of backyard chickens. My chickens are only a few months old, I raised them as chicks.

On Monday night I noticed one of my chicken's eyelids was droopy. I checked on her Tuesday morning and it looked the same. Google searching told me that it was probably a respiratory infection, so I picked up Duramycin 10. I've been giving 1tsp per 1gal (a measurement I got off a Google search, the bag's measurements seemed really weird.) It's now Thursday morning and her eye looks a little worse.

Any ideas what's going on, and how I can help her? She's still active, and the rest of my chickens seem fine.

There is much more pink showing now. I'll try to get a picture soon.

How is your chicken doing? Eyes cleared up? Did your treatment work? Did you try anything else? Did it spread to the rest of your flock? I am having a similar issue with my 6 week old chicks.

She's totally fine now, I think she had an eye injury. The rest of my chickens never had an issue. I thought Cindy, this chicken, was going to lose the eye. it swelled up pretty badly and leaked a lot. I was giving her antibacterial eye drops, when those stopped showing any change I started rinsing her eye with saline solution. Again, no change at all. So I left her alone for 3 days, and by the third day her eye was healed. I think if you have more than one chick with an issue, you might have a different problem. Talk to the people at your local feed store, they might be able to help. Good luck to your little ones!

Thank you so much!!! Whatever this is that 4 of my 8 chicks have is still a mystery. I contacted the lady I purchased the chicks friends and she said it was possibly coccidiosis. So I have been treating them with Corid the past six days. Stopped treatment now & will wait another week and do it again for six days. It didn't seem to change anything. I have been rinsing their eyes out with an eye wash from the pharmacy and applying eye ointment 2 times/day. Still no change. They have no other symptoms except droopy eyes and the one chick that rarely opens its eyes, only to feed. They all look healthy, are growing and running around, eating and drinking just fine. Have you ever tried the on-line vet advice from ask.com? $26 - I just did out of desperation...waiting to hear a diagnosis from them.
