i have 12 chickens i let them free rang so i put there food and water out ever day they get it on the ground and then mold gets on it why does it get mold and can it kiil my chickens
and how do i geet it to stop thanks to all help

Yes, mold kills chickens. Does it rain often where you live? If chicken feed gets rained on, it will get moldy.

My recommendation is that you buy a feeder and buy a cover for it. That way your feed is protected from the rain.

I would clean up the moldy feed and toss in garbage. Only scatter feed on dry ground and only if you are changing type of feed to ease transition, and only a small amount, what they consume in 10/15 minutes. GC

You could make a no waste feeder. Do a search for no waste 5 gallon feeder.
