Chicken feed

Hello, I’ve noticed that my hens won’t eat the crumbles in their feed. I mix in a crumbles, 5 seed mix and oyster shell. Would it be okay if I would just give them cracked corn and seeds?

Just buy plain simple layers pellets.

They need the crumble, you can try pellets, they might prefer that? Have you tried making a mash (wetting the food to be kinda soupy) you don't need to feed them the seeds, crumble and pellet mixes are kinda a "all-in-one" : D

Quit mixing in the seeds & oyster shell & they will eventually eat it. They are picking out the good stuff that they love. Put OS in a separate container & if you want to feed the seeds, throw some out for them once in awhile after they start eating their crumble more regularly.

Mixing the seeds in the crumbles is like mixing cupcakes in with broccoli then being surprised when your child picks out the cupcakes! They need some "tough love." They don't eat their FOOD (crumbles or pellets), they don't get treats. (Which is what seeds are.)
