I was reading today about Omega 3 eggs which come from chickens that are fed Omega 3 fats. Does anyone know of a ready made feed that supplies this? Or perhaps you might be aware of a supplement that would do the job.
The article went on to explain that most of us are deficient in Omega 3's and I was thinking, if we could get them in our eggs, life would be great, or at least we could have one less thing to worry about.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks..............

Free-ranging supplies them with omega 3's -- from green growing things. But flax seeds are a good concentrated source.

The one complication here is that there are 3 different chemical forms of omega 3's and the ones we are usually deficient in are the ones that are only found in certain seafoods. The human body can convert the flax seed omega 3's to the ones we are more deficient in, but it isn't an efficient conversion.

Still I think free-range is much healthier than caged.

Fish or fish oil, but free ranging they get plenty

Well my birds are free-ranging so I guess it's all good. Thanks so much for the timely replies, you guys have been a great help for quite some time for me.
Take care and have a nice weekend.

Flax in small quantities will help increase the omega 3's but really, the best way to get it is to eat fish/seafoods... or more efficiently, just eat the flax seed yourself. The human body can only synthesize fatty acids with omegas of 9 and above.
