If you have two coops, with identical feeders and feed in both coops....

The food will taste 10X better in the other coop!

Most of my adult birds are currently in the juvenile coop eating, while most of the juvies are in the adult coop eating.

And you find this strange because ...........................................?

Wait until you set some food on ground level for the chicks. Even if it is the same starter or grower they have in their feeder, the adults wipe this new starnge exotic food out first. It is so much better. Same with a waterer on ground level.

Kind of like when you and a toddler have the same thing on your plates. . . what you have on yours is soooo much better

Yes, I have noticed that they prefer to eat out of the feeder when it is placed on the ground. I am using this to my advantage to get them to eat more since I currently have two that are molting.

My husband always calls me at work in the afternoon asking what he can give the girls for a treat. I tell him to go into their run, pop the top off of their feeder, and sprinkle it on the ground. They go nuts-o for it. He keeps telling me that it's not a treat for them if it's their feed. And I'm looking at them going crazy for it, saying, yea, what's your point! Look at them!
