So basically we moved to a house which had a feral chicken and peafowl. She would lay eggs which was obviously unfertilized eggs which i had to destroy so she didn't get killed for nothing i suppose. Then one day our neighbors rooster came over and the rest is history.
I have a few of questions. She has left them at about 6 weeks, is this normal? And also will they all stay the color they are? Lastly how to tell if they will be male or female. Thanks

Okay that's encouraging to know. Once i get pictures of them i will sure head over and post them.

Was the roo barred?
As he spent weeks over on our land he wasn't but the peacock and him got sandwiched in a small gap and the peacock kicked him. After that he went back over the wall and they have subsequently locked him up it seems.
any ideea what kind of hen or roo
I have no idea myself as i am no chicken expert. I shall try and find a picture of the roo then maybe some one can identify him.

I think what they meant with barred is his colouration and not if he was locked up or not, as chickens with stripes are often called barred. I think they asked because one of the chicks are barred(striped).
Just thought I'd let you know. (If I'm wrong, then feel free to correct me)

Well this is the only picture i could find so excuse the poor quality. There are two chicks that are barred, both black and white as in the pictures above.
