Sometimes, if the rain gets in just right, it will make the chicken food, mushy, will they still eat it, or do I ned to through it out.

It's probably safe for about 30 minutes after it gets wet. Chicken feed that has gotten wet and allowed to mold can kill them.

Might best figure out a way to alter your setup so the feed won't get any rain.
