New set up

Okay. I have ducks and chickens. They each had their own pen, food and water source. But now we fenced in a 75x50 area and let them out of the pens.
Soo kinda like free range. I noticed from sun up till sun down they are out in the common area. I'm kinda lost at what to do with the food and water and pool. They can get back in their own pens, I leave the doors wide open. I just wanna make sure of a few things... they eat the same food.. side note..

Sooo should I move their food and water out to the common area? Or should I just start scattering it on the ground for thwm to forage? Do I keep it in their pens still... I just wanna make sure I don't over do it and waste money, not do enough, and or make sooo much work for me and my kids everyday!!!

I would keep the dishes in their pens. You will feed less wildlife that way.
Spreading it on the ground would waste a lot AND still feed unwanted wildlife.
