Waffles, age 4.5, was really healthy and active, perfectly fine 3 days ago. She’s one of my most healthy, happy hens. Suddenly mid day day something mysterious happens and she starts acting very unbalanced and begins to hobble.

I conclude her left leg must’ve been strained or sprained, as she was lifting it and seemed in pain. However she was able to walk around gingerly for food and her appetite wasn’t so affected at all. I didn’t notice obvious swelling or bruising. I let her rest and made sure she was eating.

Fast forward a day later, her walking has improved and she seems ok. However I took a look at her feet more closely and I realized both ankles looked swollen. She also has a medium sized hard bump on her toe that feels like part of the bone! No bumblefoot - i did not see any open wounds or sores and there is no pus/blood. Foot pads look ok.

One of her ankles has slight greenish bruising so I am assuming a sprain is there. And maybe… scaly leg mites???

Her foot issues were made apparent very suddenly, very drastically. I leave for vacation in 4 days. She seems ok but not comfortable, that’s for sure.

Comb is red, still laying but laid a soft shell egg which i’m not surprised by, eating and drinking ok. Her weight is lighter than normal but it has been for a little.

Here’s a picture of her feet now and a picture of her feet about 2 months ago. This is so weird?!

Any help would be appreciated, thank you
