Keep us posted! I really struggle to keep my ducks' feet healthy. I used to gave that problem with my chickens, but I found that lowering their roosts really helped prevent foot injury. You might look around and see if there's anything in her environment that might be problematic. Thanks,
I'm so sorry you are dealing with all of that. Chickens are awesome, but they aren't without these issues, and they all seem to go wrong at once.It was there when I got her 9 months ago, I just didn't know what it was. Every chicken I bought in Las Vegas has problems, fowl pox, mites or respiratory problems.
Wow. Have you contacted them? That's a lot to deal with. How are the birds today?Nellis Feed and Farm, Las Vegas
My chickens had fowl pox and recovered, too. It will likely recur because they are now carriers. As long as it's the dark spots (dry pox), it's not as severe as if they get lesions in their mouths or throats (wet pox). The respiratory illness is much more concerning.Yes, they just want to sell me injectable antibiotics and vitamins. They have a lot of negative feedback. I should have had someone with experience with chickens help me pick them. I saw the black spots but didn't know what it was, got sick in just a few days I went on the internet and got meds. She recovered the middle pic now and big eggs, 3.5 inches long and 105g.
They will thrive with you, I bet. If they came to you with so many problems, they were probably not treated well. You rescued them, really.Yes they are fun, and seem very happy. following me all over the yard. The big one likes to be petted.
