I discovered my poor hen this morning inside of my coop gasping for air. I immediately noticed that her vent seems to be inflamed/backed up. Took her inside of my home, utilizing warm water + a rag, I was able to remove the solidified stool from her vent area. She was able to make a minimal bowel movement. However, she is still gasping frequently— She'll gasp every 3-4 seconds, and then she'll gasp every few minutes.
She'll only eat scrambled eggs, and I've been forcing her to drink water with electrolytes/probiotics. I'm personally not in a financial position to be able to bring her to a vet, my preference would be to solve this at home- if possible.
The image I have attached is her vent prior to cleaning it.
Any & all advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
