I just started a new breeding project, black sexlinkeds. I am using a Buff Orpington rooster on 2 Cuckoo Marans hens, 2 Dominiques, and 1 Barred Plymouth Rock. My first test batch was an absolute success and now I am growing off the chicks to 100% make sure the genes are correct. People in my area don't beleive me and it is making me doubt myself, and they would rather buy the mix-mutt straightrun chicks

so now I have 9 pullets and 5 roos (which btw is an AMAZING number to get lol!)
I also have a flock of seramas, trying to find new DNA for breeding is nearly impossible in my area, but I did find someone who will have a couple for sale soon (YES!!)
I also have a mix flock, BSL, RIR, Naked Neck, and 10 cotournix quail~

Welcome!

Aaaw, little cuties!

Sorry, I only have a small flock of pet bantams and genetics goes sailing over my head. However, you might want to check out this Forum: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/16188/exhibition-genetics-breeding-to-the-standard-of-perfection

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

You might want to also pop in and say hello on your local thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you ‘Find your State’s thread.

If you would like to share more pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out
