Chicken Guard and external power

I have a chicken guard standard and i’ve tried multiple times to get the external power to work. I bought both the 2.0 cord and the 3.0 cord and neither of them work with it. The device goes blank after i plug it in even with the battery bank connected. I changed the settings to external too and the same thing happens, it goes blank. Does anyone else’s do this? Does anyone know how i can fix it?
