One of the big hackle breeders has been a BYC member. I don't think they are active now. The bird were gorgeous, and his stories of having 500 roosters all crowing at the same time were hilarious. I think that his family had been breeding these birds for a very long time.

Perhaps there's some other way to use the molted feathers as an income? Without killing my chickens?

That’s what I was thinking. At random I just find so many beautiful feathers laying around in the yard and then I pick them up and save them. Thinking they should be good for something.
