Chicken has a bald butt, and won't stop itching it

Hi, so I have a 2-3ish yr old silkie chicken and today I noticed her butt was bald and that she kept picking at it. I think she is plucking feathers from her butt. I hosed off her bum, hoping it would make it less itchy, but she keeps scratching. Is there something wrong? Can I do anything?

Check for mites/lice, is her butt red? Irritated?

No, her butt is just a normal color, I will check for mites

Hi @Ducklover7 Can you post some photos of her and her bum?

I agree with @ChickNanny13 to check her over well for any external parasites just to make sure this is not the cause of her picking at herself.

Since she is a Silkie, is she broody?
