Chicken has a hole on the top of her head

Hi,

I think my rooster pulled too hard on the feathers on top of the chicken’s head and that caused the skin to come off and if I look inside I can see a hole. I’ve been cleaning it with veticiryn and applying neosporin twice a day. The piece of skin is still attached to her and I keep trying to set it back in place so it heals but my chicken keeps shaking her head and moving it out of place. She’s been in a kennel in my bathroom since yesterday and now she’s not pooping either. Will I have to suture the piece of skin so it’s able to heal. Please help me, I’m desperate!
She seems alert and is eating and drinking.

To fasten the skin flap in place, use a generous amount of antibiotic ointment in the wound pit, then stick the flap down over it, pressing it in place. Then, this is key, use more generous ointment over the top of the flap smoothing it over the entire flap and over the edges. Use a LOT. This has worked supremely well for me when a hen of mine was scalped by a rooster.

Check on the wound several hours later and repeat if the flap appears to be working loose. If you can keep generous amounts of the ointment over the top of the flap, it should "take" by the third day and from then on, the healing will occur at lightening speed.

Thank you so much! I will do that.
