So a bit of backstory, a couple days I found one of my Wyandottes laying down and not moving.

We assumed it was a vitamin deficiency, so we started giving her a daily dose, we’ve also been mixing vitamins with her water. We separated her from the rest of her flock, and now she’s stinking up my room.

Anyways, we we’re lucky enough to find a vet to see her, the vet said she had a slipped tendon and to continue our treatment.

I just wanted to know if anyone else has dealt with this, and if I’m doing this right, or if I should change up her treatment.

I’ve seen treatment plans for little peeps, but not for almost full grown chickens.

I’d appreciate any info or advise!!!

I'm surprised a vet wouldn't try to treat the slipped tendon. You can do it by standing her on your lap and gently extending the leg behind her, like chickens do when they stretch a leg. It may not go back in right away, but keep exercising the leg every few hours until it does.

Avoid any sudden or abrupt moves. Be very gentle.

He did say he wasn’t quite sure how to treat it, since he was on the newer to treating chickens.

But thank you, I’ll be sure to do that!!
