Is the swelling on the back of her hock? Could you take a picture of her standing that shows the swelling? Is there swelling anywhere else on the legs or joints?

i will try this tomorrow, thank you!!That could be the issue. Broody hens get so aggressive. I have a broody australorp at the moment. She get pretty aggressive, even when she's not broody!
I had a chicken with a broken leg once. It was much worse, the bone was completely snapped. We strapped her leg with a stick to support her. She was nearly 9 years old at the time. She ended up passing away a couple of days later. Sad story aside, could you strap your chickens leg to a stick to support the leg? I'm a bit lost for answers, but I'm doing the best I can.
