chicken has start of possible prolapsed rectum

Okay so I'm trying to push it back in again but now she's pushin against me to a point where it looks like her whole insides are gonna come out ??? Is this normal or could I now be dealt g with a bound egg????? It's soft an squishy right below her vent but kinda firm ish I would definitely not say there is anything mass like in there ...

Ok got a picture

This is what it looks like when she is straining like she is straining to plop out an egg but when she strains I don't feel an egg....

Can you clean it off real well and put her in a clean, dark place? If you don't, it's likely to get infected.

Ok lol I just got home from the vet we x rayed her to see if she has an egg or not so no egg but the prolaspe is worse now wondering if I can put her in a sling now instead of waiting till overnight? Got antibiotics as well as meta can for anti inflammatory ...

Yes that is a bad prolapse and looks as if the insides are going to come out. Did you vet not want to do a purse string suture? Yes I would a pressure diaper on her now. You can take it off several times a day to let her poop. Honestly, I haven't seen many that look that bad (all my experience with it is in pictures) and I hope that she will make it. I'm glad you went to the vet after seeing the pic. Make sure she is in the dark for 16 out of every 24 hours.

I can't get the pressure bandage on her she just won't relax and she just pushes more :( I am thinking I rinsed it off because that is about all she can take - slathered a bunch of prep h on there gave her her antibiotic and metacam put her in a clean cage with a low dish of a mixture of calcium protect acv and some blended green vegetables - in the dark I think I will let her be for a few hours see if she relaxes and call in my sister to help bandage it.... no vet not rea avian vet not many around here - if anyone that reads this board lives in bucks county pa and can help help physically it would be a life saver for me and her :(

Yes I tried that she just pushes it more and more . There is a fair amount of prep h inside and out now.

I have one that looks just like her in my bathroom right now. I cleaned it off, put her in the dark bathroom for 24 hours and it's back in, but this is the third or fourth time this has happened... Not sure that what mine has is fixable. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that your hen *is* the same, she just looks the same.
