Does not look as if she is molting. Possibilities might be over mating, feather pecking/eating, feather mites.
I don't have a rooster so it can't be that I don't see bites on her that's why I'm stumpedI agree, looks like a rooster has been getting her too much! You can buy apron looking things to protect her or separate your roosters for a while to give your hens a break.
No rooster only 1 other chicken with her run is like 12ft longX2 Agreed.
Do you have a rooster, if not, how much coop/run space do you have along with how many chickens?
BTW - HiWelcome To BYC
Yeah maybe mites I just don't see them its weirdDoes not look as if she is molting. Possibilities might be over mating, feather pecking/eating, feather mites.
Thanks! The other one has no issues maybe she's bullying her. I did see her jump on her before but I had not seen it so thought it had stopped. I'll check her over good tyvmHow long have you had them?
Can you post a photo of the other chicken?
Observe how the one with feather loss behaves - is she constantly preening herself?
Observe how the other chicken interacts with her - do you ever see her pulling the feathers from this chicken or getting on top of her? How do they act when they are roosting?
Have a look at both of them for any lice/mites - look under the wings and around the vent.
