Chicken Head Shaking

Recently, I’ve been noticing my chickens shaking their heads pretty often. I started seeing it in one chicken and then started seeing it in all of the rest. They are around 12 weeks old. They are acting normal besides this. They tend to do it after I walk towards them and scare them off. It also happens when they do this this thing where the feathers on the body stand up, they shake their body, then shake their head. They are also shake their heads randomly from time to time, but this is when it usually happens. I’ll put a couple of youtube links below of them shaking their heads. Is this normal? If not, what is wrong with them and how do I deal with it? I’ve read that this could be a sign of mites or other small things living in their ears. Do you think that this is what the problem is? Also, the Head Shaking has been starting to happen more and more often without me scaring them or them puffing us their feathers. Not sure if that changes anything

My birds do that on occasion and I've observed almost no see um gnats flying around their heads. I'm not sure if that's the case for your birds though.

I’m not sure either. How often does it occur with your birds?

Completely normal! My chickens do that often.

Quite often due to all the rain we're having. I have fans under the two coops and the wind from the fans scatters the no see ums most of the time.
