A few days ago, our puppy got into our coup!... He was able to grab ahold of one of our 2 year old hens, and pulled some feathers out on her back side.(right side behind her wing) About the size of a quarter. I heard them going crazy and went running.. When I got there, She was laying (alert), but in shock... I picked her up and held her for alittle bit.. then placed her inside the coup. She could not stand very well on her right side..

There was no broken skin, and we are on day 2 now, and she is doing fine. She is sleeping alot,.. gets up when I go into the coup and eats and drinks.. then goes back and lays in the hay. Im sure she had some internal brusing..... I have put some electrolites in their water, and the other hen is keeping an eye on her...

Is there anything else that I can do?

She has been standing up, then pooping, then laying back down, so her feathers in the back are getting dirty.... I also did notice that there was a dropping that the white part looked kinda pink..

Anyone have any ideas?..

The other hen is eating good... and is not acting stressed at all... I have had them a total of 7 days now with no eggs from the one that is doing great....

Thanks again,
Darlin~

The dog may have caused internal injury and bleeding.
Do you have an avian vet nearby?
Most often (thopugh not always) chickens and other fowl don't survive dog attacks. The dogs grab and shake them like a toy and cause a lot of damage that you can't see.

I am sorry about your hen.
