Watch out. I just changed my home owners insurance because Shelter Insurance raised the value of my mobile home from $104,000.00 to $120,000, Knowing that they would never pay more than replacement value. I was told because of their loss in Joplin, Mo. tornado.
So I contacted Farmers Mutual and purchased a policy from the them at a much better rate. The agent contacted me a few days later and said the pictures she took showed that I had more than (8) chickens and raised the rate $80.00 a year. When I questioned the high rate, I was told it was for the liability for the extra chickens.
None of the insurance companies create a solid quote and keep to it.
